Ameri Staff Employment & Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician for a manufacturing client in Rocky Mount, VA. This position plays a critical role in ensuring food safety and product quality by monitoring production processes, verifying compliance with food safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Benefitsof the Quality Assurance Technician:
- Pay: $17.00 per hour
- Schedule: Full-Time | 8-Hour Shifts
- Shift Available: 2nd & 3rd Shift
- Perform quality checks throughout production, packaging, sanitation, and warehouse operations.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections, sanitation verification, and in-process quality checks.
- Monitor HACCP critical control points and ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
- Calibrate quality testing equipment.
- Coordinate and submit product samples to outside laboratories for testing.
- Verify compliance with company policies, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety standards.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns or process deviations promptly.
- Assist with employee training on food safety procedures, GMPs, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized quality assurance documentation and records.
- Manage retained product sample inventory.
- Assist in preparing for third-party food safety audits.
- Help maintain compliance with FDA regulations and third-party audit requirements.
- Research quality assurance issues and provide findings to management.
- Recommend and support improvements to food safety and quality programs.
- Previous quality assurance or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety, and quality systems is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard computer software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
- Dependable, honest, flexible, and committed to producing quality work.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to identify product nonconformities and follow established procedures.
- Ability to safely operate packaging equipment and material handling devices.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and participate in team lifting when necessary.
- Ability to read labels and printed information, including small print and color-coded materials.
