The Food Runner is the key associate in delivering the Silver Diner brand to our guests. Responsibilities include providing hospitality, generating sales, delivering food and beverage orders, and properly handling POS functions. This role is designed to grow into a Server position.

• Support assigned servers and ensure every order is delivered 100% correct.
• Run food to guests, including salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages, re‑cooks, and on‑the‑fly orders.
• Serve and announce dishes with appropriate condiments and ask guests if they need anything else.
• Pre‑bus dirty plates as guests finish and deliver them to the dish room; take dirty plates from servers and deliver to dish room.
• Complete bus of and reset tables.
• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage specifications.
• Keep station clean, stocked, and compliant with Silver standards.
• Complete all assigned side work.
• Work as part of a team, communicating clearly and constructively.

• Keep yourself, uniform, and station sparkling clean.
• Strictly follow uniform standards.
• Know and apply SMG scoring standards for Speed of Service and Accuracy of Order.
• Deliver on the Silver Diner Brand.

• Properly portion all self‑service items such as soups, creamers, and butters.

• Perform any additional duties or tasks reasonably assigned by managers.

• Positive sales growth.
• Guest satisfaction with no complaints.

Preferred: 1–2 years experience as a server in a casual restaurant. Previous serving experience is not required but preferred.

The work area involves food, refrigeration, knives, toasters, syrup dispensers, plates/bowls, slippery floors, and high temperatures. The position requires stamina and the ability to tolerate heat, walk‑in coolers, lift boxes up to 35 pounds, and stand or walk on hard surfaces for 10–12 hours per day. Continuous reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, stooping, and wiping, as well as frequent hand washing, are required. Employees must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
