Position Title: Cafeteria Worker

FLSA: Non-exempt

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Effective grooming skills

Reports To: Cafeteria Manager

• Prepare quality, nutritious food items as directed by the School Cafeteria Manager.
• Serve food items according to the size portion to meet necessary age group requirements.
• Operate equipment in a safe, proper and efficient manner.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen. Clean all kitchen equipment, wash and sterilize dishes, silverware and utensils as assigned to proper sanitation procedures.
• Immediately report all accidents to the School Cafeteria Manager.
• Immediately report any product quality or operational problem to the School Cafeteria Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the School Cafeteria Manager.

• Works well with people, especially children, and maintains a pleasant and positive work attitude. Also, must be able to work well with fellow workers.
• Follows proper food sanitation and cleanliness procedures.
• Possesses technical skills necessary to successfully complete different cafeteria duties and demonstrates willingness to learn new skills.
• Follows School Board policies and administration procedures.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Ability to manually move, shelve, stack or raise from floor to table to serving area heavy objects (pots, pans, trays, and food supplies) weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be flexible.
• Be dependable, honest and trustworthy.
