Location:

1 College Avenue, Wise, VA 24293 (University of Virginia). Online applications only.

Schedule:

Full‑time and part‑time shifts; days and hours may vary based on events.

Pay: $14.00 to $16.00 per hour.

Delivers and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the catering captain. Ensures accurate execution of all events during his/her shift. May drive a catering delivery truck. Sets up and serves at functions; cleans event area during and after events; breaks down setup and leaves the area neat and clean; returns leftover food and equipment to the catering facility in a timely manner.

• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
• Log and maintain food temperatures.
• Arrange tables and decorations.
• Set buffet tables with food, beverage and service items according to standards.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Thoroughly clean location after event is completed.
• Return food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility.
• Distribute and collect customer comment cards for catered functions.
• Stock, clean and maintain catering facility and equipment.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times.
• Maintain in‑depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol servers’ permit where required by state law.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks). These periods may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, you may be required to work year‑round, possibly at a different location during break periods.
