Director of Retail

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is making waves in the Mid-Atlantic with our newest location in Spotsylvania, Virginia, expected to open late 2026. Our fifth resort will feature over 175,000 square feet of indoor waterpark fun, 900 family-friendly suites, and a massive convention center.

In this role, you’ll manage all retail operations throughout the resort, including year-round outlets such as Marrakesh Market, Indigo Swimwear & Accessories, Kalahari Outpost, and The Last Bite. You’ll operate in a “for-profit” environment, seeking pop-up opportunities throughout the resort, while ensuring guest service is beyond expectations. You’ll also monitor inventory levels, manage budgets, and meet monthly sales goals while fostering a positive working environment.

Onboarding for this role will likely begin in late Summer 2026.

• Oversee all retail operations across the resort, ensuring profitable performance, brand consistency, and exceptional guest service.
• Lead, coach, and develop retail associates to foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
• Manage budgets, inventory, and financial performance, including forecasting, purchasing, and meeting sales targets.
• Identify and implement merchandising strategies and pop-up retail opportunities that enhance the guest experience and drive revenue.
• Develop and enforce operational standards and procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and a consistently high-quality retail environment.

• We do require that you have a minimum of four years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least 1-2 years of management experience in a hotel, resort or retail environment is required.
