Concession Attendant; McReynolds Athletic Complex

Job Overview

Responsible for the preparation and sale of food and beverages, merchandise sales, and cleaning of concessions equipment and building. Must possess good public relations skills and the ability to carry out established policies and procedures.

• Prepare and serve food and beverages, sell merchandise, and clean concessions equipment and building.
• Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Perform work safely in accordance with department safety procedures, and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Accurately document and report accidents, injuries, and incidents to the Concessions Supervisor or Manager.
• Assist with the daily opening and closing of a concessions building.
• Operate a point of sale (POS) system and a cash register.
• Adhere to division, department, and County policies and procedures as well as Health Department guidelines.
• Provide a high degree of customer service skills and a positive attitude with patrons and staff at all times.

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Willingness to attend class toward obtaining food handler’s certification/license.
• Working knowledge of facility operations, scheduling staff, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to compute basic math for counting supplies and handling cash.
• Effective communication with general public and staff.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to operate food preparation equipment such as microwave and popcorn machine.
• Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds and to perform heavier tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place, and continual walking, lifting, and carrying moderate to heavy items consistently.
• Job contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment background checks.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Requires regular and sustained performance of heavier physical tasks, such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place, and continual walking, as well as lifting and carrying moderate to heavy items on a consistent basis. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
