Every Food Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the shift, within Company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the deli.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing and merchandising the departments’ deli products
  • Inform customers about deli products and services
  • Work with equipment such as fryers and slicers to prepare food
  • Keeps ALL deli hot case/s, cold case/s, and food displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.
  • Properly cleans and maintains all equipment and readies high-margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc. as directed by Deli/Store Manager.
  • Use correct pricing as listed on the deli menu
  • Keeps store/deli floors clean at all times, immediately cleaning up all spill, etc., with specific responsibility being assigned by the Deli/Store Manager.
  • Checks refrigeration equipment for proper performance a minimum of three times per day.
  • Cleans deli windows, deli area floors, shelves, and counters.
  • Immediately informs Deli/Store Manager of any maintenance problems.
  • Complies with all safety rules and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Parking lot and grounds maintenance.
General Guidelines
  • Observes shift operating hours at all times, as assigned by the Deli/Store Manager.
  • Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Deli/Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Shift Leader, or Supervisor.
  • Assists the Deli/Store Manager in seeing that the store is a safe place to work by looking for any unsafe working conditions and correcting all problems.
  • Adheres to all City, county, and state alcohol regulations.
  • Give all Customers EXCELLENT Customer Service.
  • Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged by the Deli/Store Manager.
  • Stays familiar with the policies and procedures outlined in the Deli Food Service Handbook.
  • Operates shift within Company guidelines to achieve sales and profit.
Bookkeeping
  • Properly clocks in and out.
  • Rings all sales as discussed in the handbook.
Personnel
  • Advises Deli/Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries of Customers and/or Employees immediately to the Del/Store Manager or Deli Supervisor.
Security
  • Shares the responsibility for controlling the inventory on the shift or in the store.
  • Follows correct vendor check-in procedures as defined in the handbook.
  • Protects Company assets at all times.
  • Reports all property damage occurring either inside or outside of the store immediately to the Deli/Store Manager or the Supervisor.
