Position SummaryWe are looking for an extraordinary salesperson to join our Sales Management Team. The VP of Sales is responsible for developing the Outside Sales Associates in that district, staying connected with customers and the community, and driving sales and growth of the assigned territory.
Position Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and coordinate with Regional Vice President and Branch Managers the efforts of sales personnel toward the accomplishment of objectives within the region.
- Ensure maximum sales volume at minimum cost, maintaining and constantly improving the company’s competitive position.
- Develop and maintain good relations with key supplier management, and direct services key account relationships as necessary.
- Develop objectives, policies, and programs for sales and marketing activities; participate in the corporate long‑term and short‑term planning process.
- Coordinate the initial stages of new product planning and development, including marketing and sales objectives.
- Represent the company to the community, the public in general, and various local, regional, state, and national organizations.
- Attend applicable trade association meetings/events to promote the company.
- Motivate and coach the sales force for effective performance; monitor use of training principles and their practice by the sales team.
- Direct and coordinate efforts between outside sales and product managers, ensuring implementation, execution, and accomplishment of mutually identified goals.
- Have direct reporting responsibility for all outside sales representatives in the district.
- Develop objectives, sales and gross‑profit forecasts, and programs for sales and marketing activities; participate in the district long‑term and short‑term planning process.
- Maintain a focused team effort between outside sales, inside sales/customer service, and operations at all locations within the region.
- Adhere to all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies and act in a safe and positive manner at all times.
- Complete an accident/incident report for any safety and/or health infractions that occur or are witnessed.
- Support all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies for all employees within the district.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proven track record of achieving results.
- Desire to work under pressure.
- High degree of self‑awareness, self‑control, interpersonal understanding, flexibility, personal influence, and vision.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Frequently travel to all branches in assigned district.
- Experience leading sales teams towards long‑term strategic goals.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales.
