Sales Engineer
Eaton’s North American Sales Division is seeking a Lead Service Sales Engineer located in Sandston, VA. The role focuses on selling Eaton’s electrical services solutions, managing customer relationships, and delivering technical expertise across industrial, utility, commercial, data centre, and institutional markets.
Responsibilities- Consult with customers across different market verticals to provide solutions to their electrical problems and pain points.
- Maintain regional responsibility for all services orders and opportunity activity across Eaton’s market segments.
- Train and empower channel partners and manufacturing agents to sell services to end customers and contractors.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on services offerings and coach the organization in the region on selling services.
- Act as the voice of the customer to Eaton’s services operations and marketing teams, ensuring high customer service and satisfaction.
- Collect, analyze and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits.
- Prepare and present quotations to customers with assistance from the technical application support team.
- Deploy market-based growth strategies to ensure sustained success of Eaton’s services product lines.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience in a technical or commercial field, Associate’s degree with 7 years, or high school diploma with 9 years in a technical or commercial field. - Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must currently reside within 50 miles of Sandston, VA; no relocation assistance will be provided. Active‑Duty military service members are exempt from the geographical limitation.
- U.S. person as defined by U.S. government export regulations (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee).
- Will not be considered for employment immigration sponsorship or support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Previous electrical (or relevant) sales experience.
- Previous services experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of key customers and ability to grow relationships at multiple levels.
- Ability to assess customer needs, provide clear, competitive quotations and overcome objections.
- Understanding of market trends, industry issues and competitors.
- Leverage support personnel to meet customer needs and work cross‑functionally.
- Knowledge of Eaton electrical product and service capabilities and ability to solution‑sell.
- Effective implementation of Eaton’s internal sales process.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, presentation and planning skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Compensation range: $123,500 – $182,000 (including base pay and target sales performance incentive).
