Admissions Counselor
Bridgewater College is seeking an enthusiastic, relationship-focused Admissions Counselor to help recruit and enroll the next generation of Eagles. This full-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with students and families, traveling, presenting, and helping prospective students discover how a Bridgewater education can help them achieve their goals.
As a member of the Admissions team, you'll represent the College both on campus and throughout an assigned recruitment territory, guiding prospective students through the admissions process while providing exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
- Recruit Future Eagles
- Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan for assigned territories.
- Travel throughout Virginia and assigned out-of-state territories to visit high schools, attend college fairs, and build relationships with school counselors and community partners.
- Meet enrollment goals by cultivating meaningful relationships with prospective students and their families.
- Represent Bridgewater College at on- and off-campus recruitment events, including Open Houses, Admitted Students Day, Prospective Eagles Day, New Student Orientation, and other special events.
- Guide Students Through the Admissions Process
- Review and evaluate completed undergraduate applications for admission.
- Make admissions decisions based on established institutional policies and standards.
- Serve as a backup application reviewer for a fellow Admissions Counselor as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and recruitment data using the College's CRM and other systems.
- Provide Outstanding Service
- Deliver a welcoming and personalized campus visit experience for prospective students and their families.
- Communicate the value of a Bridgewater College education through presentations, individual conversations, phone calls, email, and virtual communication.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on admissions trends and best practices.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Passion for working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM software is preferred.
- Experience using social media as a communication and recruitment tool.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.

Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1,450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors, in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs.
Bridgewater College is an NCAA DIII school with approximately 40 percent of its students participating in intercollegiate athletics on 26 teams.
