Job Description
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Contract Length: 260 days
FLSA Status:
Non-exempt
Position is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing all HVACR equipment and systems used by the school division, per manufacturers recommendations and established division policy, communicates with users and coordinates with other trades to establish a safe, efficient and reliably comfortable work and study environment while strictly adhering to the division's energy policy.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)- Must possess a minimum Master HVAC Tradesman's license issued by the State of Virginia and have a thorough knowledge of modern BAS controls including DDC systems.
- Must have EPA section 608 Universal refrigerant recovery certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of commercial chillers with a minimum capacity of 150 tons and boilers in excess of 2000 MBH with associated hydronic systems.
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone;
physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
