Harris seeks a Facilities Technician C to work at our Orange, VA location. This position reports directly to the Associate Manager of Facilities under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager. It will be 1st shift, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM on the 9/80 standard schedule, but the employee must be available to work any shift, weekends, holidays and be on call as required.
The Facility Technician (Electrician) will work under general supervision to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using manufacturer publications, blueprints, schematics and locally generated instructions. The employee must be familiar with OSHA and NEC standards and will follow work procedures to maintain facilities and production equipment, performing general maintenance duties.
Essential Functions- Work with, troubleshoot and repair plant manufacturing equipment and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Install new equipment and electrical infrastructure (such as upgraded electrical panels, transformers, generators, etc.).
- Maintain 6S general shop upkeep, cleaning, or organizing.
- Obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Journeyman electrician license strongly desired; trade school training is a plus.
- Strong electrical experience or training in repairs in an industrial setting required.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Safety and environmentally conscious.
