Job Description SummaryThis is a highly skilled position that involves operating equipment in an open pit mine operation. Applicants must have experience operating equipment such as Motor Grader, Bulldozer, Excavator, and Front End Loader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in pit and mining operations.
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary basis as needed.
- Report any problems to your manager.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Must pass a pre‑employment “Fit to Work” physical assessment.
- Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by the facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
- Attendance required according to attendance policy to ensure crew ability to operate at a normal efficiency level.
- Physical ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours.
- Initiative to perform or assist with other positions for job completions.
- Attitude and cooperation: always maintain a courteous and professional manner with coworkers, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work various times during the day, night, or weekend hours at various locations.
- Ability to follow MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines as well as those set forth by company policy.
- Ability to follow instructions of supervisor/facility manager to adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
