Facility Specialist II

Provide on-site routine maintenance services. Supervises, performs, and assists with various custodial duties and maintenance. Supervises the work of custodial workers; supervisory duties include instruction, planning and assigning work, reviewing work, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, acting on employee problems, and recommending employee discipline as appropriate. Offers training, advice and assistance as needed.

• Perform minor plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Replace minor glass breakage.
• Responsible for ordering and maintaining custodial supplies and parts.
• Spot paint as needed.
• Maintain fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers).
• Is on call for after-hours emergencies and to respond to fire alarm calls.
• Assist trades workers in completion of on-site jobs.
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the building principal.
• Must be able to work off of a ladder and/or in a lift.
• Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of general maintenance to include carpentry, painting, and plumbing preferred.
• Must be able to lift/carry items in excess of 25 lbs.
• Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
• Must have ability to supervise.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have ability to work with minimum supervision.

Pay Range = $15.65 - $23.87 per hour (dependent upon evaluation of employment history)

8 hours per day/240 days per year
