Position
Purpose:
The Overhead Streetlight Technician performs skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of energized Street Light work. Duties include but are not limited to troubleshooting, repairing, installing and removing overhead streetlight heads, bulbs, and photocells.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work
- Comprehend and read land maps or work orders.
- Installing and removing light fixtures from poles
- Be comfortable working multiple light circuits on busy roads and highways
- Rewiring poles from the arm down to the base of pole
- Pulling span wires, climbing ladders, stenciling poles, and replacing handhold covers
- Must be comfortable with heights up to 50 feet in the air
- Operate and work from a Bucket Truck
- Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Contribute to the development of and participate in the delivery of the Pre-Job Briefing
- All other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Consistently be able to climb in and out of bucket truck up to 25 times daily
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods in various locations.
