Job Summary
George Nice & Sons is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Construction Craft Laborers. This entry‑level position is part of our Apprenticeship Program and is designed for individuals who want to build a career in the construction industry. Apprentices will receive hands‑on training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to develop skills across multiple trades.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with general construction tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and job site cleanup
- Work alongside skilled tradespeople to learn carpentry, concrete work, utilities, and other construction skills
- Safely use hand and power tools under supervision
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Participate in structured apprenticeship training (on‑the‑job and/or classroom instruction)
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Perform physical labor such as lifting, digging, carrying, and moving materials
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the company
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- No prior construction experience required
- Strong interest in construction or skilled trades
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Dependability and punctuality
- Willingness to learn new skills and accept feedback
