Position OverviewThe Residential Plumbing Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential plumbing systems. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication with homeowners, and the ability to work independently while maintaining Pioneer Plumbers' high standards of service.
Technicians will perform a variety of plumbing services including repairs, fixture installations, water heater services, gas piping, drain repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues efficiently and accurately
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, and venting systems
- Install and service water heaters, including tank and tankless systems
- Perform gas piping installations, repairs, and leak detection
- Install plumbing fixtures including faucets, toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, and shower valves
- Conduct plumbing inspections and identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Explain repair options clearly and professionally to homeowners
- Complete service documentation, estimates, and work orders accurately
- Ensure all work complies with Virginia plumbing codes and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work vehicle
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Deliver exceptional customer service on every job
- Minimum 2 years of residential plumbing experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Virginia Journeyman Plumber License
- Virginia Master Plumber License
- Gas Fitter License or experience with residential gas systems
- Experience servicing tankless water heaters
- Experience with water treatment systems, sump pumps, and sewer repairs
- Backflow certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Show up on time and prepared
