We are currently hiring a Mechanical Technician to support operations at Glad Manufacturing in Amherst, VA.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10‑hour days, with overtime as needed
What You’ll DoIn this role, you will install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems in a commercial or industrial environment while ensuring all work meets applicable codes and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Repair and replace mechanical equipment using hand and power tools
- Work collaboratively with team members and follow direction from supervisors or project leads
- Test mechanical systems and components to ensure proper functionality and safety
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures
- Use measuring tools, testing devices, and construction equipment as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and facility needs
- 4 or more years of mechanical experience in a commercial or industrial setting, or equivalent training and education
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards
- Dependable, team‑oriented, and safety‑focused
- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and background checks as required

This role requires hands‑on work in an industrial setting and may include:
- Exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions
- Frequent standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Working with tools, equipment, and construction materials regularly
