Carpenter Position

DescriptionThe carpenter is responsible for:
a) Assisting the lead carpenter or project manager to deliver a superb remodeling experience to the clients
b) Contributing to meeting budget and time targets for the project
Key Duties:
Project Execution
1. Assist supervisor to perform material take-offs as directed, order materials and schedule delivery using the vendor's services where possible
2. Check all material deliveries for accuracy prior to signing delivery tickets
3. Perform all phases of carpentry work as directed by supervisor
4. Complete kitchen and bath installations as directed by supervisor
Field Crew Team Work
5. Assist with training of carpenter's apprentice as necessary via on-job demonstration; delegate appropriate duties to maximize efficiency and develop job skills
6. Observe job site safety and job site rules with respect to non-smoking, no tolerance for foul language, no alcohol or drugs, no loud radios.
7. Maintain company approved dress code and behavior standards as outlined in employee handbook
8. Participate in daily job site clean-up and security procedures
9. Actively look for ways to exceed client expectations
Trade Interaction
10. Communicate with trades while on the project
11. Assist supervisor with verification that the required materials are on site and in good condition to allow trade to perform work without delays
12. Assist supervisor with ensuring all trades follow clean up procedures before they leave the job site each day
13. By example, help to enforce job site rules with respect to smoking only in designated areas, zero tolerance for foul language, no alcohol or drugs, no loud radios, no use of client's phone. Report discrepancies to supervisor.
