Summary

We are seeking a versatile multi-process Combo Welder with a strong specialty focus in pipe welding. You will perform high-quality welds using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick)—and, as needed, GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux Core)—in flat, vertical, and overhead positions while meeting jobsite safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pipe and structural welds using SMAW and GTAW; use GMAW/FCAW as required.
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloys as required (e.g., P11, P22, P91, titanium).
  • Read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and weld symbols; verify dimensions and fit-up.
  • Select the appropriate process, filler, and equipment based on WPS/job requirements.
  • Set up, tack, and weld components to specification; cut and prep material as needed.
  • Weld in all positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead) to required quality standards.
  • Grind, bevel, and prep pipe/steel; clean and inspect completed welds.
  • Maintain tools and welding equipment to prevent safety or quality issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven welding experience with strong attention to quality and detail.
  • Strong proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick); GMAW (MIG)/FCAW (Flux Core) experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and technical documents and weld procedures.
  • Skilled with common trade tools (electrical and hand tools) used for cutting, fitting, and prep.
  • Working knowledge of welding safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to pass the following pre-employment weld tests:
  • 2.75" OD x 0.625" wall “Monster” coupon – 6G position (GTAW root / SMAW fill & cap)
  • 2.75" OD x 0.625" wall “Monster” coupon – 6G position (GTAW/TIG all the way out: open root, hot pass, fill, and cap)
  • Additional client-specific weld tests as required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation; able to travel extensively and work variable hours/shifts.
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug/alcohol testing as required by customers.
  • TWIC card is a plus.
Scope & Locations
  • Outage work, new construction, and maintenance projects
  • Industrial settings including nuclear, fossil, and gas facilities
  • Travel required; schedules and shifts may vary by project
Physical Requirements
  • Perform sustained physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and working extended shifts.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in varied body positions.
  • Work at heights and in confined or restricted spaces.
  • Work in outdoor and indoor environments under varying weather and site conditions.
  • Work on uneven, slippery, or rough terrain in active industrial or construction settings.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respiratory protection when required.
  • Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively to work safely around moving equipment and hazards.
