Lead Mechanic

Full Time CHURCHVILLE, Verona, VA, US

Salary Range: $22.00 To $28.00 Hourly

A mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles or machinery. They inspect, troubleshoot, and fix mechanical systems, ensuring that everything operates efficiently and safely. They work on cars, trucks, motorcycles, or industrial machinery, depending on the specific role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues
    :
    Identify problems in vehicles or machines using diagnostic tools and systems.
  • Repair and Replace Parts
    :
    Replace or repair faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, etc.
  • Preventative Maintenance
    :
    Perform regular maintenance services, such as oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Conduct Inspections
    :
    Inspect vehicles or machinery to ensure all systems are functioning properly and meet safety standards.
  • Keep Records
    :
    Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and parts replaced.
  • Ensure Safety
    :
    Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and damage.
  • Customer Interaction
    :
    Explain issues and repairs to customers (if applicable), ensuring they understand the services provided.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require technical training or certification).
  • Experience working as a mechanic, either in automotive or industrial settings.
  • Certifications (such as ASE for auto mechanics) may be preferred but not required
  • Mechanics typically work in garages, repair shops, or industrial environments.
  • Physical labor is involved, and mechanics may need to work in awkward positions or with heavy equipment.
