Position: Industrial Electrician (Regional Travel)

Overview

Summary Description Of Position

This individual will be responsible for electrical repairs and maintaining electrical systems for aggregate, asphalt, ready mix concrete, ship, and rail unloading operations. The candidate must be familiar with motor control, NEC code, PLCs, and have experience with low and medium voltage starters. A basic knowledge of electronics and strong understanding of federal, state, and local electrical codes and electrical theory is required.

The role includes troubleshooting electrical problems, pipe bending, operating a company service truck, and travel to other facilities may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Sign‑on Bonus
: $2,500

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, including switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
  • Interpret and follow hand‑book and technical documentation, such as schematics and blueprints.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, and test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities, including air compressors, nitrogen lines, and lighting systems.
  • Carry out plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions such as building carts and layout boards.
  • Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment to execute tasks.
  • Wire new office spaces.
  • Report faulty operations and defective materials to appropriate supervision.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Work required overtime and flexible schedules as necessary.
  • Read, write, and converse in English.

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle safety inspections; document and report conditions at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Check all vehicle fluid levels daily and replenish as required.
  • Clean the vehicle exterior to prevent material build‑up.
  • Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs and tire changes as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily reports required by DOT and company regulations.
  • Operate a flatbed truck, forklift, and overhead crane when required.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of yard, plant, and office areas.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, environmental, and company policies and procedures.

Hourly Range
: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour (excluding discretionary bonus or equity).

Qualifications

  • Education
    :
    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
  • Preferred Education
    :
    Four (4) years of formal technical training.
  • Preferred Experience
    :
    Two (2) years of journeyman experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment from blueprints, schematics, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with oral and written technical instructions.
  • Excellent driving skills and customer/public relations abilities.
