As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician at Amazon, you'll keep advanced automation systems in our transportation and logistics network running at peak performance. Working within Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and optimize robots, conveyors, sorters, and control systems using mechanical, electrical, and PLC skills. In Amazon's fast-moving, customer-obsessed culture, you'll own equipment uptime, collaborate with engineers on continuous improvement, and support new technology deployments that scale global operations and enhance safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robots, conveyors, sorters, and automated material handling systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC logic to support repairs and improvements.
- Calibrate sensors, actuators, drives, and vision or safety systems for reliable operation.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new automation and robotics equipment.
- Use CMMS to document work orders, parts usage, root cause, and maintenance history.
- Follow and promote safety standards, lockout/tagout, and best practices in an industrial environment.
- Assist in training operations and maintenance staff on proper use and basic care of automation systems.
- Participate in on-call or shift-based support to ensure 24/7 facility uptime as needed.
