The Improvement Association is seeking a Virginia Housing Solution Program (VHSP)/ Community Service Coordinator responsible for providing case management and intakes to assist families participating in our organization's services and/or who are at-risk of homelessness in identifying appropriate housing opportunities. We are looking for a responsible candidate to perform a variety of administrative tasks, including coordinating The Improvement Association's VHSP/CSBG program activities in accordance with the funding source(s) guidelines to ensure that all service areas receive community resources to promote the Association's self-sufficiency efforts.
The VHSP/Community Services Coordinator will also provide training to customers on different housing opportunities, budgeting, household maintenance, and leveraging supportive services to assist the participant's household in maintaining or obtaining permanent housing, as well as other duties deemed necessary.
Requirments:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the Human Services Field, and/or 3 years comparable work-related experience. Must have some computer, typing, proofreading/editing, oral and written communication, and public relations skills. Must possess reliable transportation and be willing to work in other offices when necessary. Must become a certified Housing Counselor within 12 months and/or when the certification becomes available.
