Supervisor of Student and Family Wellness and Attendance
Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer
General Definition of Work: To provide support to students and families experiencing mental health, behavioral, or social concerns, and perform all other duties assigned by the Division Superintendent and/or designee.
Essential Functions- Conduct home visits to support students and families.
- Develop positive relationships with families and community partners.
- Provide and/or coordinate needed mental health services for families.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with all laws and policies.
- Complete accurate and timely reports and documentation.
- Serve as the Foster Care/McKinney‑Vento Homeless Coordinator.
- Serve as the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Coordinator.
- Supervise the attendance team (ITRT).
- Serve on the Division Support Team and lead Domain 4 (School Climate) of the Division Support Plan.
- Investigate and take proper action in cases of custody, guardianship, and residency.
- Refer students to and attend IST Committee meetings when appropriate.
- Serve on the division crisis team.
- Serve as a member of the eligibility committee and attend eligibility staff meetings when needed.
- Act as liaison between home and school regarding parental involvement for situational factors influencing student progress.
- Maintain contact with the Department of Social Services regarding students in foster care and the database for DSS complaints/referrals.
- Serve as school representative/liaison to local agencies and service organizations, including the Amherst County Family Assessment Planning Team (FAP Team), Social Services, Court Services, etc.
- Monitor various student services provided through Amherst County Public Schools: homebound instruction, referral to and services as a member of FAP Team, day treatment program, alternative suspension center, alternative placements.
- Complete required State and Federal reports as necessary for Student Discipline.
- Contact families and deliver packets for students recommended for long‑term suspension.
- Coordinate alternative education placements.
- Attend Student Accountability Committee (SAC) meetings and act as liaison with Court, Social Services, and Law Enforcement.
- Serve as liaison with the Department of Social Services.
- Assist with court‑related functions.
- Serve as the student and parent assistance/resource liaison.
- Work with DSS regarding Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other appropriate assistance.
- Serve on committees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to quickly develop positive relationships and assist students and families in need.
- Experience working with youth and families is required.
- Experience working with individuals in a mental health crisis or with mental health needs is required.
- A master's degree with clinical licensure is highly preferred.
- QMHP experience will be considered.
Masters Degree required. Endorsement in School Administration or other Clinical or Social Work Licensure required. Masters of Social Work (MSW) preferred. Clinical licensure highly preferred (School Social Worker, LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
Contract Period: 12 months
FLSA Status: Exempt
