Job Description

Part‑Time/Hourly Speech and Language Pathologists - Multiple Schools

Reports To: Principal and Director of Special Education

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Provide Speech and Language services to students in all grade levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The minimum performance expectations include but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks.

  • Provide Speech and Language Services for students as directed by the IEP
  • Participate in the development of IEPs
  • Reliable attendance and prompt arrival time
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Master's degree in Speech and Language and associated licensure
  • Experience working with children
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATH MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Licensed by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech‑Language Pathology
Master's Degree in Speech and Language
Have or working toward a Certificate of Clinical Competence
