Location: Greenville, VA, the Cold Springs Correctional Unit Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) facilitates social behavioral change, cognitive restructuring, and substance abuse treatment programming within an Evidenced Based Practices (EBP) environment to support personal growth and prepare the probationer/parolee to return to the community.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Pay rate: $24.038/hr. ($50,000 annually). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $27.8846/hr. ($58,000 annually).

The Counselor is responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames.
- Facilitating psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum.
- Providing individual counseling according to time frames established per program and documenting each session according to policies and procedures.
- Maintaining clinical records in accordance with contractual and Spectrum standards.
- Serving as a role model/mentor for program participants while maintaining professional boundaries and addressing participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
- State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus
