The Prince George Victim/Witness Program is currently accepting applications for the position of Program Advocate. Working knowledge of the criminal justice system; of crisis intervention and counseling techniques. Ability to deal with highly emotional or stressful situations; to assess the victim’s or witness’ immediate needs and ensure receipt of needed services through direct services or making appropriate referrals; to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
High school diploma required, completion of college level courses in social sciences, criminal justice, or related fields; college diploma preferred. Some courtroom experience and/or victim advocacy experience is preferred. Strong customer service skills required. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record
