Part-Time Gymnastic Assistant

Parks & Recreation is seeking qualified individuals to work as needed.

This position is open ongoing, and applications are reviewed immediately.

Under close supervision, assists in instructing gymnastics skills in classes and camps.

Assists with evaluating students' skill levels and progress, inspecting, setting up, and taking down gymnastic equipment.

Must exercise tact and courtesy when interacting with participants, parents, employees, volunteers, and the public.

Reports to the Gymnastics Head Coach or designated supervisor.

• Assists with instruction, coaching, and evaluation of gymnastics participants, working individually to help them progress.
• Helps prepare and set up gymnastics equipment, returning it to its original order after use.
• Demonstrates and leads essential gymnastic stretches to reduce injury risk.
• Assists in creating routines for gymnastics competitions.
• Helps collect money for leotard purchases and fundraisers.
• Assists children in selecting picture poses.
• Provides first aid to injured participants when necessary.
• Helps plan and choreograph routines for parades and recitals.
• Distributes memos and flyers as needed.
• Assists with transporting equipment to camp or class locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience working with children, instructing, and leading recreational activities is required. Knowledge of gymnastics is necessary.
