Summary

Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck with an excess capacity of more than 3 tons; majority of driving will be local. Full‑time position Monday‑Thursday.

• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Drives truck for testing purposes.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
• Has a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practices them.
• When assigned, opens a work order so time may be charged to the assigning department.
• Reports accidents to Safety and HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
• Works with all departments in harmony.

• This position requires a CDL Class B license and a clean driving record to remain insurable.

• A minimum of three years Class B CDL driving experience.

• High skill level driving heavy trucks.
• Highly detail‑oriented and organized in work.
• Acceptable written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
• Must have initiative and the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from the manager to accomplish objectives.
• Must possess a strong desire to learn.
