Job Requirements and Duties

Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards. Access to an insured vehicle is required. Drivers should have strong navigational skills, including the ability to read maps and locate addresses within a delivery area, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain and multi‑story buildings.

Qualifications General

Job Duties for All Store Team Members
  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the walk‑in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Training

Orientation and on‑the‑job training are provided.

Communication Skills
  • Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions/Skills
  • Accurately compute addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (calculator may be used).
  • Make correct monetary change.
  • Use verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Coordinate motor movements between eyes and hands/fingers for precise, rapid tasks.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work Conditions
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when removing trash and performing outdoor tasks.
  • In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas, with sudden changes possible.
  • Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters, including the walk‑in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces or tools from ovens up to 500°F or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing
  • Talking and hearing on the telephone.
  • Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces.
Temperaments

Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements

Standing – Most tasks are performed from a standing position.

Walking – For short distances and short durations on surfaces such as ceramic tile or linoleum. Work surfaces are between 36 and 48 inches high.

Paperwork is normally completed at a desk or table in an office setting.

Lifting – Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and unloaded with a hand truck. Case loads up to 50 pounds and dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5' are lifted and stacked onto shelves up to 72 inches high.

Carrying – Large cans (3 lb 7 oz) are transported from the workstation to storage shelves. Occasionally, 30‑lb sauce and trays of dough (≈12 lb each) are carried over short distances.

Pushing – Trays on dollies require a force of up to 7.5 lb to push or pull.

Climbing – Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders for maintenance tasks.
