Position Overview

The Operations Dispatcher is the heartbeat of daily logistics operations, communicating directly with drivers, resolving route challenges in real time, and delivering exceptional service to customers and internal teams.

Schedule & Compensation

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Pay:
Starting at $25.00/hour, competitive and negotiable.

Responsibilities
  • Dispatch calls to routes based on scheduled routing and driver locations.
  • Serve as primary communication line with drivers via email, telephone, and two‑way devices to assist with real‑time problem resolution.
  • Schedule services and adapt seamlessly to customer service changes.
  • Work closely with routing specialists to optimize routes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct end‑of‑day driver check‑ins to collect, review, and ensure complete and accurate completion of paperwork and route sheets.
  • Coordinate closely with customer service, sales, maintenance shop, and operational staff to clarify roles and proactively resolve service issues.
  • Use proprietary industry software (including TRUX) to enter ticket information, record driver documentation, and track daily operational productivity.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, or high‑volume customer service role preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with TRUX software is a major asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Proven ability to multi‑task, prioritize changing needs, and troubleshoot potential delivery/pickup obstacles proactively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary courses or diplomas in logistics or transportation considered an asset.
