Freight Forwarder – Ocean Import

Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination
• Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and moving goods through various transportation channels
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Prepare, process, and submit required documentation for customs clearance, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
• Track and monitor shipments and provide regular updates to customers on shipment status
• Manage customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
• Collaborate with internal departments (logistics, finance, operations) to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in ocean import and export is highly desirable
• Mathematical skills
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations
• Fluency in English is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
