Traffic Control Flagger

As a flagger under the immediate direction of the Traffic Control Manager, you will work as a team to establish safe movement of traffic around work zones, in accordance with safety regulations and/or Department of Transportation regulations, placing signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices as needed. You will flag motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead, take ownership of the work zone, and pass vehicles safely.

Duties will vary according to job assignment.

As a general laborer under the immediate direction of the foreman, you will have a variety of duties including traffic control, pavement markings, installing signs, wheel stops, and more.

• Control traffic safely through work zones.
• Set up and maintain traffic control devices according to company and state standards.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and the public.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift traffic control equipment when needed.
• Good attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Physically fit – should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, lift, stoop, bend over, grasp for long periods of time.
• Drug free always (subject to pre-hire and random drug testing).
• Must have a valid driver's license and 3 years of driving experience (learner's permit does not count). A clean driving record; MVR will be run as a condition of being added as a driver and will be run annually as required per company policy and DOT.
• Must have a valid state  you don't have a driver's license.

Full-time

Based on experience. Starting at $18.00 and up, with a raise after 90 days probation period.

  8-hour shifts with some overtime.

• Saturday availability
• Sundays optional

• Driver's License (preferred)
• MDOT and VDOT flagger certification (preferred but not required).

Will meet at our office in KG and drive or ride in our trucks to job sites. In person.
