**$1,000 Sign-On Bonus Available!**

This driver operates one or more types of commercial motorized vehicle dump trucks for the purpose of hauling and dumping sand, gravel, asphalt, and other construction materials in a regional area.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned trucks to ensure safe operating condition for each shift. This includes but not limited to, as required by the CDL, identifying loose and/or malfunctioning parts, tires, leaks, safety hazards, etc.
  • Submits a written or electronic report on the condition of the truck at the end of each shift.
  • Operate 30-ton tri axel or 34-ton quad axel dump trucks and play knowledge of commercial driving skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading and unloading areas.
  • Maintain vehicle and/or equipment to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Preform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment -- taking proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents.
  • Proper loading and unloading of freight to assure safety and minimal risk of damage to cargo and danger to people.
  • Schedule and attend DOT physicals as required to maintain driving privileges.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including drivers’ logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law.
  • Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions, other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pickup and delivery of cargo.
  • Report on highway safety hazards noted en-route.
  • Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Report to your work assignment as scheduled, in a timely manner, while displaying professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Valid Class B CDL, with satisfactory driving record and knowledge of commercial driving regulations, vehicle safety, control systems, and roads is required. H and/or N endorsements preferred.
  • 2 years’ of CDL driving experience.
  • Must not have been cited for any DOT accidents in the past 3 years; not have more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years; and not have a DUI or reckless driving violation in the last 7 years.
  • Current DOT medical card and ability to pass regular DOT physicals, including drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Maintain a valid CDL in compliance with DOT regulations and advise employer of any changes of such.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance, and transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and nights as necessary. Flexible - schedule is subject to change.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions around crews and plants.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to adhere to Superior policies and other safety regulations.
  • Ability to read, follow and interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, plans and grade.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • A good understanding of state, local and private requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and nights as required.
  • Must be 18 years of age
