Job Description Summary
Crew member essential to asphalt/milling crew for refilling equipment at work site as instructed by foreperson on highways/private roadways/parking lots/driveway work zones using multi-axle water truck.
Work Requirements- Employee essential in the mobilization of materials between facilities, job sites, and customers.
- Follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment
- Preform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
- Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition.
- Loading and unloading equipment.
- Must partner with Superintendent/Project Manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
- Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level.
- Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
- Attitude/Cooperation:
Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public. - Craftsmanship and ability to follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards.
- Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required.
- Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
- Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
- Must be able to check truck for maintenance needed and report deficiencies promptly.
- Must pass drug test and background check.
- Pass DOT pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical.
- CDL
- Ability to follow Traffic Control Crew instructions and practice safety standards.
- Ability to assist in flagging operations as needed and instructed.
- May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
- Must meet Driver Qualification Standard.
- Ability to transport water and operate water truck with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail.
