The Role

As a CDL A Driver at McGill, you'll help transport organic materials and finished compost products between customer locations and company facilities. Your work supports a process that transforms organic waste into valuable products that improve soil health, support agriculture, and promote environmental sustainability. This is a position for drivers who value safety, professionalism, and reliability. You'll be entrusted with operating company equipment safely while representing McGill on the road and at customer locations.

What

You'll Do
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, dump trailers, roll-offs, and walking floor trailers
  • Transport organic materials, yard waste, and finished compost products
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, and load documentation
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards
  • Maintain consistent communication with dispatch and operations teams
  • Ensure loads are secured and transported safely
  • Assist with loading and unloading activities when needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all locations

Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Safe driving record
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends as needed
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of CDL A driving experience
  • Experience with dump trailers, roll-offs, walking floor trailers, or similar equipment
  • Experience in waste, recycling, construction, aggregate, or hauling operations
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment familiarity
