Senior Accountant

Description

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Visalia, California.

This role offers an opportunity to manage key financial processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and update financial records and ensure accuracy across accounting files.

- Prepare and analyze budgets, generating comprehensive expense reports.

- Review tax policies, manage tax payments, and oversee tax return processes.

- Meet with clients to address sensitive financial concerns and provide solutions.

- Post transactions and organize records in the general ledger, categorizing by assets, liabilities, and expenses.

- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts and ensure all discrepancies are resolved.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze financial transactions.

- Conduct month-end and year-end closures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Compile and prepare documentation for audits, ensuring compliance with standards.

- Implement accounting policies and monitor adherence to regulations, reporting to the Controller and suggesting improvements for financial processes.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Staff Accountant.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook; experience with Famous Software is a plus.

- Solid understanding of general accounting principles, including revenues, expenses, receivables, and liabilities.

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, along with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

- Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

- Proven ability to handle bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
