Job Overview

Witschi Construction Inc. is seeking a seasoned Custom Residential Construction Superintendent to oversee daily field operations for our custom residential construction projects. The ideal candidate is a reliable, respectful, and knowledgeable leader with deep experience in the high‑end custom home building industry. As the on‑site representative of our values and standards, you will manage all jobsite activities—from safety compliance and subcontractor coordination to quality control and client communication.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the job site is safe for all personnel and visitors at all times.
  • Conduct regular site inspections.
  • Address and correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Project Execution & Quality Control
    • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure adherence to design, building code, and quality standards.
    • Monitor subcontractor workmanship and field crew performance.
    • Verify that all work complies with plans and specifications.
    • Review and confirm implementation of design details on‑site.
  • Scheduling & Progress Tracking
    • Track jobsite progress relative to the master schedule.
    • Document delays or unforeseen issues affecting timelines.
    • Coordinate necessary inspections at all project phases.
  • Trade & Subcontractor Coordination
    • Direct and supervise all on‑site trades and vendors.
    • Ensure clarity of scope, expectations, and deadlines.
    • Hold trades accountable for clean‑up and jobsite organization.
    • Lead weekly job walks with subcontractors and the project coordinator.
  • Jobsite Organization
    • Maintain an efficient, clean, and well‑organized jobsite.
    • Establish designated areas for materials, plans, and protection equipment.
    • Ensure proper protection of finishes, including windows, floors, and door thresholds.
    • Enforce jobsite signage and access control policies.
  • Pre‑Rough & Rough‑In Preparation
    • Confirm all framing is accurate, and required backing is installed.
    • Mark cabinet and shower locations and post key layouts.
    • Conduct EMP (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing) rough‑in walks with client input.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain daily logs, progress photos, and video documentation (e.g., pre‑insulation).
    • Track change orders, upgrades, and priority selections.
    • Provide consistent reporting to project management.
  • Client & Team Communication
    • Act as the primary on‑site contact for clients, vendors, and trades.
    • Maintain consistent communication with suppliers and internal team.
    • Facilitate client walkthroughs and approval meetings.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in residential construction or a related role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team‑building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of custom home construction processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Honest, respectful, and reliable—values‑driven mindset.
  • No specific certifications required.
