Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Visalia, CA!

What You ll Do:

• Provide expert OB Hospitalist coverage for a hospital with an annual delivery volume of approximately 4,690.
• Manage unassigned patient deliveries within a pseudo laborist model, working alongside local providers and community backup.
• Support Level III NICU services and handle emergent gynecologic cases with professionalism and efficiency.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage, to ensure seamless patient care.
• Engage in rotations with Family Medicine residents during OBED/L&D shifts.
• No outpatient or clinic responsibilities required.

Required Skills:

• MD or DO degree with valid medical licensure to practice in California.
• Board eligibility or certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Proven experience managing labor and delivery in a hospital setting.
• Ability to handle emergent gynecologic procedures confidently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience working in a hospitalist or locum tenens role.
• Familiarity with Level III NICU protocols.
• Experience collaborating with residency programs and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years obstetrics and gynecology practice, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Current CA medical license, DEA, and performer number.

Other Requirements:

• Availability to start on 12/31/2025.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must adhere to all hospital, state, and federal regulations.
• Willingness to adhere to credentialing and compliance procedures.
