Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in patient care while enjoying competitive compensation? We invite experienced physicians to join our esteemed team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Visalia, CA.

This role offers a unique chance to provide high-quality obstetric care in a supportive environment while enjoying flexible scheduling and generous pay.

In this vital position, you will oversee obstetric services at a well-established hospital with a delivery volume of approximately 4,690 annually. The hospital features a Level III NICU and benefits from a pseudo laborist program operated through a local group for unassigned patients, ensuring comprehensive coverage and a collaborative clinical environment. An anesthesia team provides 24/7 in-house support, and community providers stand ready to assist with backup during emergencies, representing a cohesive and efficient care delivery model.

This position involves emergent gynecological responsibilities, with oversight focusing on high-acuity obstetric cases.

Ideal candidates will possess strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented setting. The role requires excellent communication, adaptability, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Required Skills:

Valid medical license to practice obstetrics and gynecology in California

Board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN

Demonstrated experience in obstetrics, including labor and delivery management

Ability to handle emergent gynecological cases competently

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience in hospitalist or locum tenens roles

Familiarity with Level III NICU operations

Experience working within a pseudo laborist care model or similar system

Knowledge of inpatient obstetrics protocols and procedures

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

Active California medical license

Minimum of 2 years’ obstetric practice experience in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

Must be eligible for credentialing at the hosting facility

Willingness to work flexible hours, including call shifts

Ability to travel to Visalia, CA, and stay for the duration of the assignment

Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP preferred
