Business Banker

The Business Banker handles a wide variety of responsibilities, including comprehensive knowledge of the bank’s products and services such as Treasury Management. The role involves calling on potential or existing customers to develop new business and strengthen or retain relationships, opening and processing all types of new accounts, managing deposits, cash handling, promoting the bank, providing superior customer service, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining Business Banking Center security.

• Interview customers to gather information and recommend bank products using professional sales techniques.
• Make decisions regarding the opening of new accounts, assign account numbers, complete forms requiring signatures, check credit history, accept initial deposits, and prepare all documents for processing.
• Maintain expert knowledge of Treasury Management products and sell them independently.
• Act as a customer advisor, establishing and maintaining a customer base and taking full ownership of relationships.
• Proactively expand the client base by cultivating referral relationships, participating in networking functions, and soliciting target market clients through telemarketing and other outreach.
• Provide effective customer service, answering questions, investigating errors, and resolving issues.
• Process retail and commercial checking and savings deposits, stop payments, hold orders, and cash checks or manage withdrawals.
• Issue official checks, money orders, traveler's checks, and savings bond applications.
• balance cash differences and reconcile general ledger accounts and Business Banking Center totals.
• Record, file, microfilm, update information, prepare wire transfers, and sort mail or reports as required.
• Gather data and process various reports (e.g., currency transactions, returned items, overdrafts, callbacks).
• Process address changes, withdrawal orders, and other administrative items related to account management.
• Assist in opening and closing the vault daily, prepare shipments, and balance vault currency and coin, following cash control and security procedures.

Target Compensation: $61,743 – $75,000 annually, depending on experience.

• Intermediate experience, knowledge, and training in Business Banking Center operations, terminology, and products/services.
• Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and bank operational policies.
• Basic math skills for calculating interest, balancing accounts, and handling currency.
• Able to resolve complex, variable problems in non‑standardized situations.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
• Professional appearance and demeanor toward clients.
• Organizational and time‑management skills.
• Basic computer and office software skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance if required for duties.
