Roles & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical precision
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that move patients toward meaningful goals
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, educators, and families to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely to support continuity and quality
  • Provide family and caregiver education to empower support beyond therapy sessions
  • Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure safe, effective handoffs
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
  • Experience (or clinical competency) evaluating and treating pediatric and/or adult caseloads — adaptable clinicians encouraged to apply
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
  • Willingness to complete required onboarding and credentialing for a travel contract role
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in standardized and informal assessment tools
  • Knowledge of dysphagia assessment and management techniques
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) options
  • Excellent clinical documentation and goal-writing abilities
  • Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Strong verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
