Job Details

The Cup Packer is responsible for ensuring proper labels and boxes are readily available for each print as well as properly monitoring, packing, and packaging multiple cup lines. Employee must follow all appropriate checks on product quality and product specification sheets and follow established procedures when defective product or deviations are found. The packer is required to be familiar with the operation of post cup forming equipment (auto-baggers) and maintain effective communication with other employees as necessary.

The cup packer is required to maintain a clean and organized work area. Packer must assist other employees as necessary.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/

    JOB DUTIES:
  • Upon arrival to workstation, must communicate with previous shift packers in order to receive information regarding production order status, quality alerts, and any operation issues.
  • Packer verifies all packaging and finished goods match specification sheet with proper KD, print, stick & sleeve, count, etc and document as required per procedures. The packer is identified with a stamp number to indicate the boxes inspected by the particular packer.
  • The packer will be familiar and monitor the operation of the auto-bagger and fill boxes with inspected cups. The packer clears jams on the machines and coordinates any operational issues with the packaging operator, line maintainer, and/or lead.
  • If a cup defect is detected, proper communication to the machine operator and QAT are crucial in order to remove product out of production and adjust the machine.
  • Following direction from the cup operator, a 200-500 cup test will be completed by the packer in search of the defect which resulted in stopping production. The defects noted by the packer must be recorded on a log.
  • Job knowledge transfer and providing training to new packers is required on an as needed basis. Training is required of an employee when the packer is proficient in the position.
  • Ensure all upcoming prints have appropriate boxes, labels, spec sheets, blank carts, etc - prior to running production. Maintain and organize packaging materials throughout production run and returning unused material after runs.
  • Labeling, stamping, and assembling of boxes
  • Repack of damaged or mispacked cases
  • Packer is responsible for general housekeeping around their work station. The work area must be kept stocked with supplies.
  • Complete written reports and documentation, i.e – logs, traceability, CoC, HACCP, etc
  • Continuously monitor cups for visual and formed defects of paper cups.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities

Comply with all safety standards. Remain focused on safety throughout the shift and perform all work in a safe manner without taking shortcuts. Report injuries immediately to your supervisor and any potential safety hazards observed.

Comply with all quality standards. Produce quality product by not accepting defective material into work center, not making defective products at work station, not passing defects to internal customers and by reporting potential quality issues.
