Work Shift: Day - 12 Hour Shift (United States of America)

Qualifications
  • License / Certification

    Required:

    CA RN license, BLS
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
  • Education Preferred: BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN‑BSN program.
Responsibilities
  • Guide nursing practice with the Code of Ethics, ensuring professional behavior, respect for colleagues, and patient confidentiality.
  • Identify high‑risk patients and initiate interventions with ancillary departments; advocate for patient rights and autonomy.
  • Perform nursing process assessments: successful physical assessment validation, diagnosis planning, outcome identification, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collect and analyze clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness of nursing care; identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to enhance quality of care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams evaluating clinical practice or health services related to patient care.
  • Take part in quality‑improvement studies, task forces, or committees; implement recommendations from unit study results.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and other health‑care providers; utilize peer review and observation to ensure appropriate documentation and referrals.
  • Formulate and involve patients in care plans; make referrals and ensure continuity of care as needed.
  • Serve as Team Leader (in the Acute Psych department): act as primary clinical resource, mentor staff, lead staff assignments, manage staff and patient flow, coordinate high‑risk/emergent situations, and maintain open communication with physicians and other departments.
  • When assigned as Admission Nurse, notify attending physician and case manager of pending issues; assist charge nurse with unit assignments; communicate pertinent information; accept and record physician orders; ensure proper room assignments and coordination of admission and discharge processes.
  • Assist with training of new RN staff; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth, development, and diverse needs of all patients and families; provide culturally sensitive care.
Pay Range

$46.44 – $69.66
