Position OverviewThe purpose of this position is to protect and promote health, prevent illness and injury, and alleviate suffering through nursing diagnosis and treatment. The nurse demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting by overseeing an interdisciplinary health‑care team to provide holistic care and advocate for patients and families.
Qualifications- CA RN license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and PALS certification within six months of hire/transfer
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire/transfer
- BSN, MSN, or active enrollment in an RN‑BSN program (preferred)
- Practice guided by the Code of Ethics and professional behavior standards.
- Identify high‑risk patients and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and families, assisting them in developing self‑advocacy skills.
- Provide non‑judgmental, nondiscriminatory care that preserves patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
- Apply the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collect and analyze clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
- Offer recommendations for improving nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams evaluating clinical practice and health services.
- Engage in quality improvement (QI) studies, providing input, implementing recommendations, and sharing findings.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other health‑care providers.
- Monitor documentation for appropriate referrals and continuity of care.
- Implement evidence‑based practices and facilitate plan‑of‑care formulation.
- Provide leadership and support for staff; serve as a clinical resource and mentor.
- Support staff during orientation and new‑employee training.
- Assign and adjust staff based on unit needs; coordinate admissions and transfers.
- Ensure equipment checks, crash cart readiness, and proper medication counts.
- Communicate patient‑care issues, maintain accurate documentation, and report critical patients.
- Make fiscally responsible decisions regarding staffing and supplies.
- Primary clinical resource for assigned unit staff.
- Role model and mentor; assist with employee evaluations.
- Ensure float staff receive orientation and feel welcome.
- Coordinate high‑risk and emergent patient care; notify leadership of critical cases.
- Advise Nurse Manager on counseling needs and staffing recommendations.
- Provide patient care as needed and maintain collaboration across disciplines.
Full‑time status, eligible for company benefits.
Work shift:
Night, 10‑hour shift (United States of America) in Department 7430, Surgery Center‑Ambulatory.
$46.44 – $69.66 per hour.
