  • Day: 0600‑1830, 0800‑2030, 1000‑2230
  • Evening: 1200‑0030, 1500‑0330
  • Night: 1800‑0630
Qualifications
  • License / Certification

    Required:

    CA RN license, BLS, Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer, ACLS within nine months of hire/transfer, PALS within one year of hire/transfer, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) provider card within 18 months of hire/transfer, Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) within three years of hire/transfer.
  • Education Preferred: BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN‑BSN program.
Job Responsibilities - Essential
  • Practice guided by the Code of Ethics and professional behavior, interacting respectfully with co‑workers and patients.
  • Identify high‑risk patients and initiate interventions with ancillary departments, making decisions in an ethical manner while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advocate for patients and assist them in developing self‑advocacy skills.
  • Deliver care in a non‑judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that preserves patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Utilize nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) and collect clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
  • Identify aspects of care important for quality monitoring, formulate recommendations, and support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams evaluating clinical practice or health services; engage in quality improvement studies and implement recommendations.
  • Act independently in problem identification, provide suggestions for improvement, and share findings with colleagues.
  • Collaborate and communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare providers, utilizing peer review and observation.
  • Monitor documentation for appropriate referrals and involve patients in care decisions.
  • Formulate plans of care, ensure continuity of care, and make referrals as necessary.
Team Leader Responsibilities (Addendum)
  • Primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit, role model and mentor.
  • Act as Nurse Manager Representative in absence, provide leadership and support through problem solving and decision making.
  • Support new employees during orientation, provide input on employee evaluations, and ensure float staff receive orientation and feel welcome.
  • Manage staff and patient flow, make and adjust staff assignments, coordinate admissions and transfers, and monitor breaks to maintain adequate staffing.
  • Determine staffing needs for next shift, communicate needs to Staff Facilitator or Nursing Supervisor, and ensure equipment checks are completed.
  • Coordinate care in high‑risk/emergent situations, keep leadership aware of critical patients and unit issues, and ensure collaboration with physicians and other providers.
  • Maintain open lines of communication, document and report patient care issues, and facilitate the completion of Statements of Concern.
  • Provide employee guidance and alert Nurse Manager to counseling needs; initially provide patient care as needed.
  • Make fiscally responsible decisions regarding staffing and use of patient supplies.
Pay Range

$46.44 – $69.66
