• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into shopping carts and into their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on the shelves for check stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check stand ("go backs") and return it to the proper shelf; walk aisles and return any misplaced items to their proper location; face merchandise on aisles as needed.
• Monitor cleanliness of the store entrance: sweep the front area inside and outside, pick up and empty trash regularly, mop outside walkways, and clean entrance/exit doors daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store throughout the day: sweep, mop, and clean; restock restrooms as needed.

• Read and write English; interact effectively with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra credit).
• Retail Management Certificate (extra credit).
