Position: Psychiatry Account Manager - Visalia / Fresno, CA

Territory

Visalia / Fresno, CA – Psychiatry. Target city is Visalia; candidates may live within 40 miles of territory boundaries and have access to a major airport. Territory includes Visalia, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.

Summary

We are looking for a results‑driven biopharmaceutical sales professional to promote our psychiatry portfolio. The role involves executing sales and marketing strategies, applying clinical knowledge to drive performance, and navigating a rapidly changing environment.

Essential Functions
  • Business Planning & Account Leadership – Use digital tools and data insights to create opportunities, develop strategy, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
  • Selling – Deliver clear and compelling messages, probe customer needs, handle objections, and close each call with a commitment to action that drives behavior change.
  • Customer Development – Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating "total office" account management.
  • Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise – Gather and validate market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
  • Reimbursement – Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics; anticipate and address payer access issues for IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers using Lundbeck resources.
  • Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance – Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory environments, adhere to Lundbeck policies, and comply with FDA regulations on product promotion.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device, or related healthcare sales experience.
  • Strong intellectual capacity to score highly on disease and product training exams and achieve annual product knowledge certification.
  • Self‑starter with a strong work ethic and outstanding communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Must live within 40 miles of the territory boundaries.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing; driving is an essential duty of this job.
  • Compliance with industry‑standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers and customer facilities.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
  • Experience in a specialty product sales force.
  • Experience detailing products for depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
  • Documented successful sales performance.
  • Ownership of fully integrated account plans.
  • Strong analytical background and use of sales data reporting tools to identify trends.
  • Experience in product launches.
  • Experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions).
  • Leadership through participation in committees, job rotations, panels, and related activities.
Travel
  • Willingness/ability to travel up to 30%–40% domestically to meet/interact with customers and attend 4–8 internal/external conferences and meetings across the United States.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000 with a sales incentive target of $40,500. Benefits include flexible paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and company car.
