Position Purpose
Responsible for loading, unloading, transporting and positioning materials to and from various rooftop sites on residential homes and commercial buildings. Works in close coordination with the Driver to load materials onto trucks and manually unload them onto rooftops using a conveyor system, following Roofing Contractors’ specifications and protecting customer property while maintaining SRS safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks using manual and mechanical methods, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, assist in scaffolding assembly, inspect equipment, and report issues.
- Safely distribute materials onto flat and sloped roofs per company safety guidelines, prioritizing workers and property protection.
- Operate conveyor belt systems (where trained) to transport building materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops, maintaining a continuous flow to meet project timelines.
- Verify and reconcile material orders, ensuring correct quantities are loaded and documented.
- Provide exceptional service to roofing contractors by attending to material needs and responding to inquiries.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
- Coordinate with drivers and team members to streamline loading and unloading processes and support branch operations.
- Inspect delivery sites for hazards, assist drivers in maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces, and support safety assessments.
Reports to Site Supervisor/Manager. No direct reports.
Travel RequirementsFrequent local travel within the branch delivery area, occasional travel (less than 10% overnight) for nearby branches or emergency relief, aligned with delivery schedules and customer needs.
Physical RequirementsMust be physically fit, capable of lifting up to 100 lbs, comfortable working at heights, and able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and handle materials on varied roof pitches. Personal protective equipment such as harnesses is required.
Working ConditionsPrimarily outdoors on rooftops with exposure to weather, noise, and significant heights. Requires strict adherence to safety guidelines and PPE. Work hours typically Monday‑Friday, with potential overtime or weekend shifts to accommodate schedules.
Minimum Qualifications- Reliable transportation for commuting.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of criminal and driving background checks and a pre‑employment drug test.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift 80‑100 lbs repeatedly.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and PPE use.
- Ability to read work orders, shipping orders, and follow instructions.
- Comfortable working on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights.
- Availability Monday‑Friday with potential overtime.

- Knowledge of construction materials and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating a forklift; knowledge of boom/crane trucks or similar equipment.
- Experience with conveyor systems and other loading machinery.
- Proficiency in Spanish in addition to English.
- Over one year of experience in building materials, roofing supply, or rooftop delivery.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred EducationRelevant vocational training or certification in construction, material handling, or forklift operation.
CertificationsForklift certification preferred.
